Search for and Manage Contacts:
This short user guide will show you how to search your contact database in Campaign Manager for groups or single contacts.
Once you have logged on to the Cloud Portal and launched Campaign Manager, use the navigation menu on the left of the screen to go to Contacts and then Search.
The Contact Search window will then appear. Here you can either choose to use a saved search or search by select a field to search by (e.g. First Name). To search for contacts, simply select the field you want to search for, the operator (e.g. Equals) and the content of the field, for example, first name, equals, John.
Once you have entered your search criteria, click Add Search Criteria. The criteria will then appear as a search string in the box (like this, ~First Name [Equals] 'John'~). You can then add further search strings by choosing either And or Or to Insert and selecting Add Another Search Criteria. On completion of your search string, click Search and the number of contacts that match your criteria will appear at the bottom of the page. You can then choose to send either a new SMS or new Campaign to those contacts.
N.B. in order to group contacts together to send them all one message, you may want to use one of your custom fields as a Campaign Name. To find out how to set up custom fields, have a look at the Configure System user guide.
You can also choose Manage under the contacts section on the navigation menu. This page allows you similar functionality as the Search page, but additionally allows you to search for opted out contacts, edit contacts and add new contacts.
N.B. you cannot deploy a new campaign or SMS from the Manage Contacts Page.
Search opt outs
Using the manage contacts page, you can include opt outs in your search, to see how many contacts you are trying to message have previously opted out by texting STOP. When you enter your search string, simply tick the Include Opt Outs button to include opted out contacts in your search criteria.
Add new contact
When using campaign manager it is unusual to want to add individual contacts, but you can do so if you wish, by click the Add New Contact button, and entering the relevant information. Then click save.
