Use this to dictate how long you wish your messages to be valid for once submitted to the mobile networks. Once the validity period has been reached the message is no longer ‘valid’, meaning the message will not be delivered after the set time period has been reached. Any messages that have been delivered in this period are not affected.
This is particularly useful for people sending out offers that are only valid for a certain amount of time. The default validity period for all messages sent is 72 hours (3 days). Once the 72 hour period has been reached any messages that have not been delivered by the Network will be disregarded.
There are limitations, on submission to the mobile networks we are only allowed to send either days or hours or minutes, and they each have a maximum of 99, which means if you ask for 105 minutes (1hour 45 minutes) we convert that and round up, so we would submit as 2 hours rather than 1 hour 39 minutes (99 mins).
