We recommend that instead of E-txt Desktop you use our SaaS application, Message Manager. Simply login to our User Portal and select Applications - Message Manager.
If you are unable to upgrade etxt or import contacts then it may be due to the machine configuration you have.
The simplest way to ensure that you have no problems upgrading to the latest version in this case would be to backup your e-txt.spd file which can be found in the application installation directory (usually ...program files/Dynmark/e-txt/Data...) to a safe location. For versions higher than 5.3.2 the folder is located in the Application Data or AppData folder for each user. For Windows XP machines the folder will be located in:
C:\Documents and Settings\#username#\Application Data\Dynmark International Ltd\e-txt Msg Manager\Data\ for XP machines
C:\Users\#username#\AppData\Roaming\Dynmark International Ltd\e-txt msg manager\Data\ for Windows Vista / Windows 7 Operating Systems.
Then fully uninstall your existing e-txt version ensuring that all traces of the installation directory are removed and that no trace of the removed files exists in your recycle bin.
The only thing you may lose is your stored activation key - It would be best to make a note of this before uninstalling, in addition also to your username and password.
Following this simply install the latest version and copy the e-txt.spd file back over the new one before opening the application.
You may notice that in fact there are two similar files inside the yellow DATA Folder. Both files show the size of 888KB.You should copy both of the files into your 5.3.3 Data folder.
On starting e-txt the files will then be upgraded. Once they are upgraded however they will no longer be compatible with your old installation.
