Text from your mobile to a group in Message Manager
Message Manager has the capability to send a specified message to a group of contacts on receipt of an inbound message. This can be easily set up using contact groups and rules.
You can use this functionality to send acknowledgements internally or possibly to inform stakeholders of emergencies or important information.
First create a new group containing the contacts you wish to send to. This can be done from the Contacts page by clicking “Create Group”, for more detail, click on the “What can I do here?” icon at the top of the page.
Once you have created your group you need to set up the rule that will send out the message when the inbound comes in.
There are several ways to recognise your inbound message. To be sure that your message is the only one that triggers the rule the best option to choose is “Where message is from specific people”. That way it will need to be one of the selected numbers that triggers the message. You can add multiple numbers here, so it can be more than one person.
To send a message to a group select, “Forward message to contact group”. You will then be given an option to select your response option, originator, group to send to and message. Simply complete the fields and click “Save”.
Your rule will then be live and any message triggered as a result of it will appear in Auto Responses in your Outbox.
