Managing Opt Outs
This section explains how to manage opt outs in your Campaign Builder account.
You can search your current opted out Users in the Unsubscribes Report in the Reports section.
Opting Out Individual Users
If you want to opt out individual users, go to Search Users in the Audience section and search for the contact you need to opt out. The quickest way to find a contact is by searching for the User ID.
Once you have found the contact you are looking for, click the Edit (green crayon) icon on the contact to see the contact's individual record. Check the Opt Out option at the top of the pop-up to opt out the user or un-tick to opt them in. Click ‘Update’ to save the changes to the User’s details.
Opt Users OUT in Bulk
To opt users out in bulk you can import a file of opt outs, just as you would normally import user data but with an additional column labelled Opt Out. This column should include the word TRUE next to any User ID you would like to opt out.
When you import this file you can follow the usual steps but when you come to mapping the User Properties of your data, map the field property ‘Opt Out’ in your data file to the property ‘Opt Out’ on Campaign Builder. This will force Campaign Builder to import and update those users as opted out.
Opting Users IN in Bulk
Conversely to opting users out in bulk, you can also opt them in. This function should be used with great caution to prevent sending messages to users who do not want to receive them. Just as you would normally import user data but with an additional column labelled ‘Opt Out’. This column should include the word False next to any User ID you would like to opt back in.
It is very important that you ensure that manually opted in users have chosen to be opted in.
To enable opt ins, when you are importing your file, check the box that says ‘Allow Opt Ins’. This will open a pop-up. If you are sure you want to opt the customers in your file back in, click OK - I Understand. This will allow you to update any existing users that are opted out and opt them back In.
If you do not want to opt those contacts back in, select ‘Do Not Allow Opt-ins’
